Cameron Crowe Says No To Say Anything Sequel

A couple months back, Cameron Crowe started an internet speculation about a Say Anything sequel. But people over at IFC have had a recent chat with Mr Crowe to clear the air about the status of a sequel to his first feature film:

I was very surprised that got picked up and repeated so many times.

It’s a personal thing for me, that movie. It’s probably my favorite thing I’ve ever done. And the last thing I would ever dream of doing is touching something that I feel so proud about in any way. I just love the characters and I was sort of musing out loud with this really cool person that had asked the question.

He goes on to say the idea of the sequel to Say Anything is ”definitely a pipe dream.” But he has spoke to John Cusack, as he said, a very long time ago. But says there is no script, start date nor release but is very honoured to have made a film which everyone in the whole wide world cares about.

Born in Northern Ireland. My first cinematic experience was Tom And Jerry: The Movie in 1992. But moved onto Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Batman Forever in 1995. But my love for films really kicked into high gear when my mother bought me a film magazine when I was 13 and never looked back since. My favourite directors are Christoper Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Michael Mann, Paul Greengrass and Terrance Malick – even Roland Emmerich.
