New Trailer Arrives Just In Time

After Justin Timberlake put up a damn good fight in stealing the show in The Social Network we were finally forced to give up holding him partly responsible for giving the world N*Sync and admit that J. Twizzle has serious acting chops. Now he’s having another crack at the big screen, this time by dipping his toe in the sci-fi/thriller territory with clock watching future flick, In Time.

The film is set in a world where the age of 25 is the stopping point for the lot of us, time itself is a form of currency and you are literally working to get more minutes on your body clock so as not to pop your clogs. As you can imagine, the rich keep ticking but the poor are forced to embrace a licking, particularly hard working hero, Will Salas (Timberlake) who is close to seeing his time run out (uh-oh).

As luck would have it though Salas is given chunky bit of time on his clock by a mysterious stranger who kills himself shortly after. Good, right? Oh no. Unfortunately the death is pinned on Salas and he ends up going on the run with hot looking hostage in tow (played by Amanda Seyfried) in effort to escape the law, ultimately trying to start a world where time pays for no man.

So far we like what we see, Timberlake is finally getting a proper leading role and it’s one that isn’t making us keen to punch him in the face for being a cocky son’uva gun (ala The Social Network) or slap him into shape (ala Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan). Take on board that this is also being dealt with by director Andrew Niccol who has given us a frightening future before with Gattaca and his oh-so awesome bullet filled beaut’, Lord of War.

You can watch the clock for when In Time arrives 1 November (though we highly advise you don’t – bit weird, really) but until then check out the trailer over at Apple here and be sure to give it a yay or nay via the force of the thumb below.
