Joss Whedon’s Take On Shakespeare?

Joss Whedon

With Anonymous set to hit screens soon it seems to be a topical time for this potential film project to be unearthed. The man who has been sitting at the top of every fangirl and boys’ dinner invite list since the days of Buffy and Firefly, who these days receives more fan mail than Stan Lee has apparently directed a Shakespeare based film?

Whilst the shooting hasn’t wrapped on The Avengers yet, if internet clues are true then Mr Whedon has been a busier bee than anyone realised. One of Joss’s long-term collaborators posted a link to a film website last night listing some of Whedon’s previously cast actors such as Nathan Fillion, Amy Acker and Sean Maher. See the site in full here.

The film has the working title of Much Ado About Nothing, and all the site currently lists is the cast list, a photo that looks like the hint at a poster and text that reads:

“Bellwether Pictures is proud to announce the completion of principal photography… a film by Joss Whedon, based on a play.”

We’ll await word on what this actually means.

Confession time: I didn't watch Star Wars until I was 24, I don't alphabetise my film collection, I'll happily admit to liking bad films and Daniel Craig is my least favorite 007.
