Vin Diesel Confirms More Fast And Furious Films

It’s been rumoured for sometime now that they will be more of the action packed, guns loaded and engine revving franchise that is Fast and Furious and now the star of it has said it is so. 

It’s awesome news as the fifth installment, that hit the big screen over the summer as one of the best to date and showed that the lads and lasses still have more potential and then there was that little issue of a humdinger of a cliffhanger they left wide open, to clear up.  

As for why they’re planning this move, well we’ll let the man himself speak:

“With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space… We have to pay off this story.We have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages.

The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie!’”

It’s great to know that this choice was born from having too much of a story to tell, rather than just box-office numbers hitting the dollar sign. Justin Lin is to get back into the driving seat to direct and no details about cast have been clarified yet, so we have to wait and see if the awesome rumours of Jason Statham getting involved will come true. 

Slated for a May 2013 release and being shot back-to-back to take full advantage of having such a large cast back on set.
