HBO has certainly been busy as hot on the heels of the news of The Viagra Diaries having a pilot comes the news that Ben Stiller is set to star in new sitcom All Talk. I say star, what I really mean is star and direct. I say star and direct, what I really means is star, direct and executive produce. Busy man. The show will follows the daily shenanigans (loving that word today) of a Jewish family in Washington D.C. I’m not going to lie, based on that little plot-line is sounds quite crap.
The concept has been derived from novelist Jonathon Safran Coer (Safran’s a real name?!) who also wrote Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close which is currently on the big screen with Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. He has penned the pilot episode and labelled the show “politically, religiously, culturally, intellectually and sexually irreverent.” Hmm.
Would Stiller, an A-list comedy star, really stick to a HBO series which could last hundreds of episodes? It sounds doubtful. We’ll have to see how the pilot goes which is believed to be released late this year.
