Short and sweet, much like Kermit himself, last month we learnt a little bit about the upcoming fast-tracked Muppets sequel and that it’s set to be a crime caper in homage to older stories that Jim Henson has previously told.
We also know that Jason Segel is sadly not set to come back as a star, but may cameo and this morning CommingSoon published an interview with writer Nick Stoller in which he revealed some elements of the second film. Comming Soon was talking to Stoller in his capacity as director for the upcoming The Five-Year Engagement but snuck in some questions about The Muppets and their future. Obviously working with Jason Segel on both films, it was apt to talk about his involvement in the next Muppets outing:
“We kind of felt like we completed Gary’s story in the first one,” Stoller told ComingSoon.net in an interview posted earlier today, “and he’s mostly interested in writing stuff for him to be in, which makes sense, right? He didn’t want to go on and write the next one.I was like, ‘Do you care if I do it with James?’ He’s like, ‘Of course not.’
The image above came from Facebook and certainly brought a smile to our face this miserable morning.
