I think that this would be known as breaking out of the box, we’ve seen some fantastic things from Chloe Moretz in the past and she’s certainly one for wanting to explore new and interesting projects and roles, and Hick looks set to be just that. It’s not the first time we’ve seen her clutch and point a gun but it’s the first time she’s been laid so bare.
From a flesh eating vampire in Let Me In to a bad-ass adolescent with a dad with a more than intriguing career than an actual superhero in Kiss-Ass she’s never been one to shy away from traumatic roles or challenging concepts, in Hick she’s playing Luli McMullen - a runaway, a clueless one who is learning about life on the road as she meets and greets her fair share of nasty characters.
The main one of these not so desirables is played by Eddie Redmayne, who’s playing Eddie Kreezer here and this trailer gives you a glimpse of the awful things that this cowboy is capable of, reports from the US suggest that there may well be divided opinions on the, perhaps, exploitative way that Martini shoots the underage Moretz.
Set for a limited release later this summer in the US and hopefully making it’s way to the UK later this year, if not, then certainly one to catch on DVD.
