It’s a known fact that a fourth film in a franchise being good is a very rare thing, feel free to chuck your own choices in here but after Rocky IV we’re fresh out. By the looks of things though, Jurassic Park IV could be one such rarity with news that some new writers have been hired to pen a fourth instalment and they’re a pair that suddenly fill us with reassurance for the somewhat extinct franchise.
Deadline have revealed that Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have been given the job of taking us back to the park. Now whilst their names might not ring alarm bells, their recent effort of franchise revival with Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes certainly will. Ah, see that twinkle of excitement in your eye? We had that too.
There’s no confirmation on anything else outside this recent scribe snatch up, other than Spielberg (or big Ste’ as we like to call him) is stepping out as director on this one and letting someone else take the helm. There will be inevitable doses of pressure for whoever gets the job but we can’t help they can rest a tad easy considering they’ve got Jaffa and Silver on the case to tell a decent story. Watch this space.
