Spielberg Casts Thor In Robopocalypse

Chris Hemsworth

Robopocalypse is a project that Steven S has been keeping warm since before and during making War Horse, based on Daniel H Wilson’s novel which in short tells the tale of mankind finally perfecting artificial intelligence and how it all unravels and Spielberg and Disney are working hard to get this film into cinemas for April 2014.

Of course it’s far from a smooth ride as the new creation, Archos doesn’t quite go to plan, shorts the circuits and makes uninfluenced decisions that sees him decide that robo-life deserves to be protected above all costs and war is soon waged against the creators, ‘the masters’. Other plot strands hold the flow but essentially look forward to seeing an almighty war of robot vs. man.

Assuming that we can trust what Deadline are saying (we usually can, right?) then there will be a certain director who is clapping his hands right about now as Drew Goddard who directed Hemsworth in The Cabin in the Woods is reportedly the man who coaxed the performance that caught Spielberg’s well trained eye.

The Aussie actor who can regularly be seen in blockbusters has a full plate ahead of him but it’s great to see that it’s so varied, currently hard at work on Thor: The Dark World and will next be seen in Ron Howard’s Rush and then the delayed Red Dawn reboot

Confession time: I didn't watch Star Wars until I was 24, I don't alphabetise my film collection, I'll happily admit to liking bad films and Daniel Craig is my least favorite 007.
