First Look At Daniel Day Lewis In Spielberg’s Lincoln

After the true horror of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer it’s wonderful to see someone take the poor former President seriously. Cue Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day Lewis for Lincoln.

Entertainment Weekly have released this gem of a shot which shows Day Lewis looking uncannily like the so-creepy-looking-I-can’t-look-at-a-picture-of-him-for-more-than-three-seconds Abraham Lincoln. Have a look (for more than three seconds if you will).

It truly is amazing how alike they have made Day Lewis look. Not only are they similar in appearance (shudder) but he seems to capture that serious look that the popular President possessed. 

Lincoln will explore the last four months of the famed President’s life and will look at the length he went to to ensure that the abolition of slavery lasted forever after the end of the Civil War. Spielberg told Entertainment Weekly “our movie is really about a working leader who must make tough decisions and get things done in the face of overwhelming opposition.”

Hopefully the won’t add an extra touch of creepy to Day Lewis’ face or I won’t be able to watch more than three seconds of the film come its UK release on January 25th 2013.
