Considering the gargantuan box office and success of Avengers Assemble it’s coming as no surprise today as Joss Whedon confirms that he’s not only making a sequel of his super heroic adventures, but that he’s going to write it too.
The film is currently number three on the world wide box-office having secured $1.461 billion. Not only is he revisiting his heroic universe, he’s also set to assist American television network, ABC in making a live action series related to his Avengers universe. See the official statement from Disney below:
“Joss Whedon has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015. As part of that deal, Whedon will write and direct Marvel’s The Avengers 2 as well as help develop a new live action series for Marvel Television at ABC. He will also contribute creatively to the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic universe.”
We’re thrilled, so pleased that no-one else will be taking the reigns and look forward to the second part of the adventure, (which we hope brings back all of the cast) come 2015!
