Ryan Reynolds To Star In Queen Of The Night

Whilst Ryan Reynolds will be setting off for Canada soon to star in Atom Egoyan’s Queen of the Night, it won’t be to star as the titular Queen, predominantly because there is no Queen and not at all because of gender related issues… ahem. Reynolds instead will be playing the father of an abducted child in this kidnap thriller but details are as of yet scarce.

In all likeliness Queen of the Night won’t be full of explosions and kick-ass action as considering Egoyan’s other films (e.g. Calender, Ararat, Exotica, Adoration etc) we can gather that the film will be more laid-back and perhaps more realistic than other kidnap thrillers.

As usual, Egoyan has co-written the screenplay and is producing along with Simone Urdl, Jennifer Weiss and Stephen Traynor. Filming for Queen of the Night will begin in February 2013.
